Visit Vaucluse and Provence


Le Jardin de Lau is nestled in Aubignan which is home to some remarkable buildings, starting with its church. The town benefits from the calm of the countryside, while being in the immediate vicinity of larger towns. You will stay less than 10 km from Carpentras, and only a half-hour drive from Orange and Avignon. Three cities that should not be missed! The Jardin de Lau is also the ideal starting point for climbing Mont Ventoux, by car, on foot, or by bike. Finally, it is a perfect place to explore the illustrious Provençal villages and wine estates of the region. Travel through Vaucluse to meet producers, going to Beaumes-de-Venise (less than 3 km!), Vacqueyras (6 km), or again in Gigondas (10 km). Carpentras, Orange and Avignon...


Less than 10 km from the Jardin de Lau, Carpentras. The capital of Venaissin county offers you cool streets, residences, facades and remarkable buildings. The Orange Gate, the episcopal palace, the cathedral, the Hôtel-Dieu and the 18th century pharmacy are not to be missed. 30 minutes from Aubignan, Avignon, the City of the Popes, famous throughout the world for its monuments and buildings, but also for its festival, in July, one of the most famous contemporary live performance events on the planet. Also 30 minutes from the Jardin de Lau, Orange, an emblematic historic city in the South of France. You will not fail to immortalize in photographs the Arc de Triomphe and the superb ancient theater. 

The ascent of Mont Ventoux


Mythical stage of the Cycling Tour de France, feared by the riders of the peloton, Mont Ventoux is a mecca for cycle tourism. There are thousands of them every year who attempt the ascent, via one of the three routes that lead to the summit. But the Géant de Provence is also a paradise for lovers of hiking who enjoy the steep paths and the exceptional panoramas offered by the site. Mont Ventoux is also accessible by car. The summit is located approximately 40 minutes from Jardin de Lau

The villages of Provence


Le Jardin de Lau, rental of gîtes with swimming pool near Mont Ventoux will allow you to explore Provence and visit some of its remarkable villages... and there are many of them. Among them, 30 minutes away, L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is one of the must-sees. Peaceful and lively at the same time, it is the paradise for antiques enthusiasts. The antiques village is also home to tasty restaurants. A little further, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, 45 minutes away, and Lourmarin, around 1 hour away, are also worth a long stop.

Wine tourism


By staying in Vaucluse, you are in a part of the kingdom of Côtes-du-Rhône. It will not escape you, the region, a fertile land, is occupied by vast vineyards, some of which are famous throughout the world. Go and meet the producers, and treat yourself by going to Beaumes-de-Venise (less than 3 km!), to Vacqueyras (6 km ), or at Gigondas (10 km).
